"Don't be scared" is the first full length effort from Manchester's very own It's a Buffalo. These guys are playing the kind of modern indie rock that you'd expect to hear from The Cribs or many fellow Mancunians The Courteeners but they've got a little bit of country rock in the mix to separate them from the crowd. They sound like an excitable bunch and you can really hear the enthusiasm that has gone into recording this first album. 'Run and hide' and 'somewhere in range' showcase there enthusiasm for rocking out and having a good time with loads of shouts and harmonic wails punctuating the anthemic indie pop! You get the impression that they're gigs are frequented by excitable teenage lyric shouters, first time drinkers, first time smokers and all night snoggers! Oh what it was to be young whippersnapper with no business to attend too... I reckon if these dudes can get it together they'll most surely get one of their tunes featured on a episode of 'Skins' and good luck to 'em i say.

What their label says...

Following a groundswell of support emanating from their home city of Manchester, Its A Buffalo release their debut album packed with barnstorming singles and melodious, upbeat shouty chorus’s.

Don’t Be Scared was recorded in 2008 in Manchester’s desolate Ancoats district with Dave Rowe inbetween extensive tours supporting the Courteeners. The album is a prime example of the short but sweet debut. It’s a little bit country, a little bit Cribs and very Mancunian.

Marbles breezes past with its tale of days wasted on the dole; Somewhere In Range bewitches with its infectious riff and Climb Climb creeps in like a drunken sea shanty before Run/Hide closes the album on a high (as it does their live show inducing a terrace chant-along from their following.)
