I'm gonna leave the name Yellow 6 alone because it's
like shooting fish in a barrel. Apparently he does one of these every
year but this is the first one I've heard and I'm pretty impressed.
Floaty guitar business that's all reverbed-up and echoes around the
place all pretty like, drawing you in with its repetitive, hypnotic
ways. I'm particularly into the third track, I think that one's all
kinds of ace with the background drone slowly creeping its way up in
the mix until it all reaches a discordant crescendo, battering your
little brain before an almost total drop-out. It reminds me a bit of
listening to Stuart Braithwaite playing with himself in his bedroom.
With an amp and guitar you dirty monkeys. So that's Merry 6mas 2008.
Why doesn't he call one 'Yellow Snow'? Shit, that just slipped out..
Sorry.
