Mamma mia, it's only time for the last ever Skull Disco release ever ever.. Thankfully there's the likes of Applepips to keep us going. We tend to eagerly lap up everything on the label and Soundboy's Gravestone Gets Desecrated by Vandals is no different. On the first CD we've got all the tunes that have come out since the last compilation (Soundboy Punishments) including the immense Appleblim and Peverelist jobs 'Circling' and 'Over Here' plus Shackleton's 'Death is Not Final', 'The Rope Tightens', etc. etc. etc. You can't go wrong with any of that stuff and I think we've reviewed most of them before so I won't dwell on them too long, needless to say if you like spacey beats, uber bass, detailed world-y percussion or dub techno you'll be feeling right at home. On the second disc there are remixes from the likes of T++, Pole, Bass Clef, Brendon Moller and the like, names that show the regard in which the label's stuff is held. There's a real variety of approaches to the source material but the whole thing actually works pretty well as an album in its own right I think.. Since there's officially no more Skull Disco catalogue numbers to go around some of the remixes have been released on totally informationless grey marbled vinyl that's limited to 500 copies and will most likely shit out the door into urbanland at a rate of knots. This lethal music will slay your face and you'll thank it for the pleasure!
