Compilation alert. Escaping From Color: Rapoon Recomposed and Remixed is a brand new 15 track comp featuring (probably obviously) Rapoon tracks arsed about with by some of the leading gimps of the electronic/ experimental world. You've got Francisco Lopez, TV Pow, Machinefabriek, Troum, Aidan Baker, Anla Courtis, Family Underground and loads more 'n all. This has come all the way from the ever useful Quasipop Records from Ukraine. There's lots of dark brooding ambience, throbbing electronic experimentation and I think there's some industrial leanings on some of the tracks as well. An entertaining album and not one for the faint hearted! As far as comps go despite the variety on offer here it's surprisingly coherent. Me like.

What their label says...
The conception, the idea, and also both realisation and sound sources of this CD are all based on original sound material (loops and sounds) from
Rapoon's "Tribal Sci Fi" CD-ROM (released by Sony/Sonic Foundry a few years ago). Not the entire original Rapoon’s tracks have been re-mixed or re-composed,
but the general «sound» (or the sound aesthetic of Rapoon’s music) was recreated instead. All the artists have provided their own original compositions,
which more or less are based on the audio-sources from Rapoon. This compilation features stunning works in electroacoustic/drone/dark ambient/industrial/noise domain
from the following artists:
Francisco Lopez "Untitled #193" TV Pow "Ladder Friends Remix" Machinefabriek "Drijfzand" Troum "Farawer" Steve Roden ”Colorscape Forming” Jorge Castro ”Depths” Paulo Raposo "Tidal Winds" Aidan Baker "Percussive Drone" Anla Courtis ”Rapooned Rapunga” Gert-Jan Prins ”Raponsje” Heimir Bjorgulfsson "Obmam Ognom" Mike Shiflet ”Version Belize” Family Underground ”Tube” Ronnie Sundin ”Distant Demons” Cisfinitum & Rapoon ”Live in Ikra, Moscow 2006”
