Schole Records from Japan produce some fine twinkly electronica and here's another fine example of the lovelyness that prevails from their twinkly wonder label. Sawako & Daisuke Miyatani are the artists and the CD is called Hi Be No Ne. Sawako has done stuff on the 12K label whilst Daisuke has collaborated with folks like Haruka Nakamura, Akira Kosemura, and Pandatone. From the off you'll lulled into a real sense of security as the acoustic guitar ploughs along gently while someone naively bashes a xylophone and in the background various tropical (I presume) birds can be heard doing their thing. This is part electronic and part acoustic and I have to say it's very very good indeed. The whole album is a pleasure to listen to. Lots of tinkles and twinkles (as promised) over shambling acoustic ditties creating some beautiful atmospherics. It's remarkably nice and if it was a woman walking passed me on the street I'd stop her and tell her how beautiful she is. That kind of nice. Vocals on the odd track but largely instrumental. Woof. I like it.

Love this record? Hate it? Tell us.

What their label says...

Our fifth release is actually the second split album, and itʼ s made by two artists from different
background. One is Sawako, who is now living in NY and releasing music pieces from the finest
labels in overseas such as 12K in NY. And the other is daisuke miyatani, who currently lives in
Awaji Island in Japan and he is well remembered by his first album which was released from
German music label Ahornfelder.
Though two artists are from different circumstances, they referred their split album as “A piece
filled with memories and sparkles.” The album “hi bi no ne” is made by each of their private
experiences.

sawako
Currently living in NY, sawako started
her musical progress from ʼ 00, when
she hand made some music pieces
for her friendsʼ birthday gift. From
then, she has been spreading her
own movement in internet, releasing
albums from 12K and such, and
corroborating with artists like HYPO, RF, Taylor Deupree, and asuna. Using field
recordings and electronicas, sawako weaves her unique and original
soundscapes as if sheʼ s shooting her private short films.

Daisuke Miyatani was born in 1982 and currently
lives in Awaji Island, Japan. After his career as a
rocker, Daisuke has started his solo career from
2004. Though there arenʼ t any integrated
musical themes, the pieces Daisuke makes are so
various. Created mainly by environmental sounds,
musical instruments or even from some junks,
his pieces were released in CD and mp-3 forms
from both domestic and international labels.
Daisuke Miyatani has done some corroboration
with artists like akira kosemura, haruka nakamura, pandatone, steinbruchel,
taguchi noriko, and GoGoooo from French. In this year of 2008, his awaited 2nd
album and a corroborated album by “miyagooo(miyatani + Gogooo)” is expected
to come out.
