Now a CD from the amusingly named Delay Lama on Sophamore. 'MK.1' collects recordings from 1997 and 2000 when it was a solo project . This is essentially one long track that begins like a fuzzy humming drone piece but becomes more rhythmical as it evolves. Then different parts are more minimal with strange guitar and electronic sounds and peculiar bleeps and frequencies. Curious and interesting.

What their label says...

“Mk. I” is an EP collecting several recordings made by Dennis Thang Block between 1997 and 2000. Back before

he made his mark as part of Strumm and Delay Lama transformed into a duo when Rune Sørensen came

onboard.

The music on “Mk. I” moves between beatless, menacing drones - over widescreen soundscapes - to jittery rhythmic elements that circle beneath the evocative notes. The cd contains only one track. It’s a bit over 41 minutes long, though. It is made up of five »movements«:

1. Under

2. Omkring (Det 13. Slag)

3. På (Det Har Sit Eget Liv)

4. Over

5. Ved Siden Af

All the music was done live and recorded analogue. It was remastered and remixed in 2007 for this release.

Background:
Delay Lama is a duo consisting of Dennis Thang Block and Rune Sørensen. Together they forge a kind of

electronica that is very much now, but still has one foot in the past. Drawing upon some of the old school electronic

repetitive vibes, while still maintaining a certain pop sensibilty. They each bring in elements from their other

musical projects to whatever Delay Lama is.
Rune also plays in the eletronic pop band Indurain and Dennis is active in Dazzle Ships and Jong Pang - and before that

was songwriter, guitarist and singer in the noise-pop band Strumm (released on Morningside Records).
