Another absolutely smashing album is by Wetdog who not only win funniest name of the week but floor me with some proper primal & authentic agit pop, lo-fi garage rock & brittle lady-led new wave ala Slits, The Raincoats & Delta 5. They've got the old classic sounds down-pat, rumbling bass, guitar varying between spiky clean minimal & guttural garage like it's fallen out of a Detroit dustbin! Then come the rattling drums, probably held together with bits of wire & elastoplast. The vocals collide in a thrilling, tuneful but faintly wonky fashion & you even get some occasional blasts of fractured trumpet! this is somewhere between Erase Errata & Thee Headcoatees if you could imagine such a dream car crash of sound! These 3 gals look the part as well, just like they've fallen out of the pub & would beat you in an arm wrestle no matter how skinny they are! proper heartening to see a precious flame being brandished so proudly, this is old skool riot grrrl that shreds yr ears but ain't afraid to wear it's pop heart on it's sleeve! 'Enterprise Reversal' is the best thing I've heard this week! CD/VINYL on Angular, which thye most certainly are!

‘Enterprise Reversal’ is the ambitious 22 track debut album from Wetdog, a band that is quickly gaining a reputation as one of London’s most exciting prospects.
Self-produced, the album is an uncompromising 40 minutes of scratchy, angular, often weird music, and yet retains a pop heart. Mesmerising three part harmonies sit atop abrasive beats and twitching spidery guitar lines to stunning effect. Taking cues from The Slits, Wire, The Raincoats and 60s pop, Wetdog de-construct pop songs and reassemble them in the wrong order.
Wetdog is comprised of three ice cool females – Rivka on vocal squalls and minimalist guitar, Billy with her cropped hair and intimidating, fancy bass, Sarah with her decadent cheekbones and single-minded drum beat – bashing out 20 minute sets that aren’t scared to let their songs breath, that figure it’s better to make people feel uneasy than content.
The vinyl version of the album is limited to 400 copies on bright green vinyl.
