What their label says...

The Primary 5 is the solo project of ex Teenage Fanclub and Soupdragons drummer Paul Quinn. Paul released his first album 'North Pole' on his own
Bellbeat label to critical acclaim, followed by many live shows followed culminating in a UK tour support of the late legendary Arthur Lee & Love. 2006
saw the release of the second album 'Go' - with former Teenage Fanclub band mates Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley assisting. This new album 'High Five' was recorded with producer Nick Brine, and guitar duties are shared between Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub) and Jim McCulloch (Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan). The album has many obvious influences (The Shins, The Byrds, Ennio Morricone, REM, Big Star and CSNY) but, simply put, it's a brilliant confection of strong, highly infectious songs from an artist reaching a high point in his career. High Five indeed.
"Amazing. It's what would have happened if Teenage Fanclub had grown up in California." - The Star
