'Making Clocks' is a CD by Gish is one of those abstract sound manipulators who is spot on when you're mourning Turkey losing against the ever dominating German footy team. I mean, why does the underdog always get a kick in the teeth just when yr roaring for them? I think I'll go listen to some wobbly, off kilter plinking underlaid with some cheeky waves of crackle then you big losing bastards. Next a malfunctioning whistling kettle battles against the hum of a distant vacuum cleaner before a light case of tinnitus comes to visit, sat there casually undulating away without a care in the world. This is ambient music for people with double glazing who yearn for rotten wooden frames with wind chaffing through the cracks. Oh what is the meaning of life in these cold, abrasive times? What is my purpose etc? There's some nice organic sound & musique concrete to enjoy further on here but it certainly won't get you laid. Dirty Demos are the guardians of this post-music and package it accordingly like a sinister piece of art. Curious on the ear.....

Gish is a improvised guitarist based in London, UK. When not performing with $un$hine Republic and Jack Nicholson, Gish can be found playing solo using guitar and sometimes a microphone, run through a mixing board and various electronics. 'Making Clocks' is a sweet display of sound textures, microsound and glitch. Think bleak, minimal and marvellous.
