The only thing I've heard by Birds Of Delay was their side of a split 7" on Not Not Fun and I really liked it so It's sweet to get to hear 'Impasse' by Helm which is the work of Luke Younger who makes up half of the duo as well as twanging the old guitar for Spin Spin The Dogs. 'Fields' is a simply marvolous wall of melodic and psychedelic sound. Incredibly dense with loads happening It gives me a genuine rush hearing this, I just feed off the energy and want to close my eyes and be transported... But I have work to do. Doh! Brian is reminded of The Telescopes. The second tune 'Glazing Over An Autumn Pastoral' makes me want to open the window and blast it across the street... It blurs the lines between ambient, drone and noise with it's heavenly synth sound that feels like the rays of the sun shining down on me. Bloody brilliant 3" CD on Low Point Records in an edition of 80 copies.

What their label says...
Helm is the solo project of Luke Younger, one half of the London/Berlin noise duo Birds of Delay and guitarist for avant-weirdos Spin Spin The Dogs.
Drawing equally upon noise and ambient elements, the music on Impasse illustrates Younger’s continuing development within the field of experimental electronics and drone composition. Utilising synths, feedback systems and effects, these two long-form tracks offer a dense mixture of blistering yet melodic walls of sound.
3"cdr packaged in a white mini-dvd style case with colour wrap-around artwork. Ltd edition of 80 copies.
